Rumor: Montreal Canadiens Trying to Trade for Forward Help
The Montreal Canadiens have been all over headlines this past week and not much of it was positive. However, we have some good news to share as the team is trying to trade for some forward help and have been rumored to be interested in what the New York Islanders have to offer.
Hearing the Canadiens have been actively exploring the forward market, looking to add up front. One player they’ve inquired about is Anthony Beauvillier.

Beauvillier is a restricted free-agent and at 24, is someone that could align perfectly with Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki for the foreseeable future in Montreal. It also doesn't hurt he's from the area and would instantly become a fan favorite.
Beauvillier broke out these past Stanley Cup Playoffs and took his game to another level. He recorded 28 points in 47 regular season games and then 13 points in 19 playoff games, often showing off his blazing speed and extremely high hockey IQ.
The Canadiens have a ton of draft picks to choose from so this deal could involve multiple picks being shopped to Long Island, much like when Devon Toews went to Colorado last offseason.
