Robin Lehner Linked to the Pittsburgh Penguins

According to well known media member out of Pittsburgh, Mark Madden, the Penguins could be interested in acquiring goaltender Robin Lehner and may make contact with the Vegas Golden Knights about a trade.

The Golden Knights are going to move one of their goalies this summer due to salary cap implications as the team is trying to upgrade their top-six forwards. Everyone has pointed the finger at Marc-Andre Fleury leaving town as he's older than Lehner and signed for only one more season at $7 million. Meanwhile Lehner is seven years younger than Fleury, and signed for four more seasons at a very reasonable $5 million.

If Pittsburgh is going to trade for Lehner, expect Jake Guentzel to be headed to Vegas. In all honesty, it's going to be quite the stretch to see any deal happen between these two clubs.

Keep an eye on the expansion draft and that could tell us all more. If the Penguins leave Tristan Jarry exposed, there's a good chance the Seattle Kraken select the netminder and then the Penguins will for sure be making a goalie trade. Will it be Lehner? Time will tell.
