Rumor: Tomas Tatar Finished in Montreal
It looks like the writing is on the wall for Tomas Tatar and the Montreal Canadiens as the veteran forward appears to be finished with the franchise.
Tatar was a healthy scratch numerous times throughout the Stanley Cup Playoffs and the 30-year-old is set to hit the free agent market come July 28. Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin spoke to the media on Friday as the team held their exit interviews, and his comments certainly painted a picture.
Bergevin says Tomas Tatar kept a real positive attitude in the locker-room despite being a healthy scratch for much of the playoffs, didn't cause any problems. Thanks him and wishes him well if he doesn't return to Montreal.

He gone..
Tatar was acquired as part of the Max Pacioretty/Nick Suzuki deal and was more than just a throw in for salary cap purposes. In his first season with the Habs he recorded 25 goals and 58 points in 80 games and 22 goals in 68 games in 2019-20. Unfortunately this season was a much different story as he only scored 10 goals in 50 games and was pushed out of the lineup. Tatar only appeared in five postseason games during Montreal's run to the Cup Final.
We recently posted an article on some potential destinations for Tatar next season, you can catch it right here.
