Rumor: Tyson Barrie to sign with Colorado Avalanche
The Colorado Avalanche are looking to add a right-handed defenseman to their roster this summer and it sounds like they could be looking at a familiar face. Rumor has defenseman Tyson Barrie being interested in returning to the Avs, after being dealt to the Toronto Maple Leafs two summers ago.

Barrie never found his game in Toronto, mostly thanks to Mike Babcock and ended up being quite disappointed with how things turned out. He turned this experience into a 'show me' contract with the Edmonton Oilers, signing a one-year deal. This plan worked out perfectly for Barrie as he led the league in points by a defenseman and now looks to turn his $3.75 million last season into a long-term contract.
Fun fact: Tyson Barrie is the first player in the 67-year history of the Norris Trophy to lead defencemen in scoring and not receive a single vote. pic.twitter.com/1PV9zRUUeP

While Barrie had 48 points last season to lead all d-men, only one of his points came without Connor McDavid or Leon Draisaitl on the ice. Should buyer's beware? Hard to say at this point, but it makes sense for him to head back to Colorado as the team is a Cup contender and has a need that he can fill.
