Rumor: Zach Bogosian Finished with Toronto Maple Leafs

The Toronto Maple Leafs are going to look much different next season and one player who appears on his way out of town is pending free-agent defenseman Zach Bogosian.

'Bogo' signed a one-year deal in Toronto after winning a Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning and the rugged rear-guard was stellar for the Leafs. He appeared in 45 games and recorded four points, and added one assist in seven postseason games. The veteran defenseman was able to provide some stability and toughness on the back-end for the Maple Leafs and often would lay a huge check to get the team going. His fearless play was something the team lacked for a long time from a right-handed defenseman.

Leafs management preached finding killer instinct this offseason so it would be a bit strange to see the team let Bogosian walk, but that appears to be the case. While he may be pricing himself off the roster, there's also been reports he wants to take his family back to the United States due to the COVID protocols in place in Ontario.

We will have to wait and see how this plays out over the course of the next 10 days. The Maple Leafs would be better next season with Zach Bogosian in their lineup.
