Rumor: Zach Parise and Ryan Suter Will Not Be Teammates Next Season
The Minnesota Wild certainly kicked off the NHL's offseason when they bought out the last four seasons of both Zach Parise and Ryan Suter's contracts. It was huge news when they both signed mega-deals with the Wild almost a decade ago, but don't expect to see them signing together this time around.
Ryan Suter and Zach Parise have not discussed the idea of signing with the same club and it appears the chances of that happening are highly unlikely.

As Strickland points out it's going to be very unlikely we see it happen as both are creeping closer to 40 and the NHL's becoming a young mans' game. Teams are reluctant to bring in too many aging veterans to their mix so signing one is certainly an option, but two is a tough sell to the fanbase.
One team who could potentially still sign both - the New York Islanders. The team has forever been linked to Parise, and they also have a need for a depth defenseman for their left side. The only problem is the interest in Suter. He's receiving multi-year offers and some teams are even willing to go four years.
Whatever contracts they end up signing, be it for several seasons or just for 2021-22, don't expect to see them using the same pen this time around.
