San Jose Sharks Sign New Goaltender

The San Jose Sharks have signed goaltender James Reimer to a two-year, $4.5 million contract. It will carry a $2.25 million cap hit per season.

In 22 games this season, Reimer sported a 15-5-2 record and had a .906 save percentage. With the Hurricanes, he slowly became the third-string goaltender for them because of the emergence of Alex Nedeljkovic. However, he is still a respectable goaltender who should compete for the starting job in San Jose. He will now be forming a tandem with Adin Hill.

The San Jose Sharks are continuing to make signings today, which is nice to see. It appears that they are truly looking to avoid a full-on rebuild.
