Seattle Kraken And Calgary Flames To Make Trade
According to Frank Seravalli, the Seattle Kraken are going trade Tyler Pitlick to the Calgary Flames once the trade-freeze ends at 1 p.m. ET. The return has not been confirmed, but Seravalli believes that a mid-round pick will be heading the other way.
Pitlick is a good addition for the Flames, as he is a bottom-six forward who has the ability to chip in offensively. In 38 games this season, the 29-year-old center had six goals and 11 points. He also can work very nicely on the penalty kill and isn't afraid to engage in the physical side of the game. These elements should make him a fine addition to the club.
The Flames have plenty of work to better their roster going into next season, but this is a good start. Pitlick is a very underrated center who should be able to slot on their fourth-line moving forward. He also has one year left on his contract and it carries a $1.75 million cap hit.
