Seattle Kraken to Block Toronto Maple Leafs from Talented Winger
The Toronto Maple Leafs are going to look much different next season, especially on left-wing. The team is expected to lose Alexander Kerfoot, Zach Hyman and Nick Foligno over the next eight days and reportedly have their eye on one name to help replace their minutes.
Insert, Jaden Schwartz. The pending free-agent has spent his entire 10-year career with the St Louis Blues and has recorded 385 points in 560 regular season games and another 54 points in 88 Stanley Cup Playoff games. Schwartz also has a Cup ring and would bring in some championship experience to the Maple Leafs.
Last season the Saskatchewan native recorded 21 points in 40 games and does have multiple 20-goal seasons under his belt. Playing alongside Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner could be intriguing to the former Blue. Schwartz is coming off a contract where he made $5.35 million annually, it's likely his next contract comes in slightly under this number and that's music to the ears of the cash strapped Maple Leafs.
While the Maple Leafs would love to put pen to paper in eight days, there's also rumblings Schwartz could be the Seattle Kraken's selection to reunite with head coach Dave Hakstol. Sounds like Toronto should have kept their assistant coach...

Says don't be surprised if Schwartz ends up being Seattle's pick from St. Louis.
