Seattle Kraken To Take Surprising Forward From The Philadelphia Flyers
The Seattle Kraken had Jakub Voracek, James van Riemsdyk and Shayne Gostisbehere as potential options from the Philadelphia Flyers. However, according to Frank Seravalli, they will be picking forward Carsen Twarynski.
Twarynski is a 23-year-old left winger who is just getting his career started. In 22 career NHL games over the last two seasons, he scored one goal. He also has spent a considerable amount of time in the AHL, too. With the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, he had 18 goals and 20 assists in 107 total games. There was a lot of intrigue about whether #SeaKraken would be tempted to take one of the high-priced players the #Flyers dangled.

Hearing the selection was a bit of a surprise: Carsen Twarynski.
Can honestly say I didn't see him plucked in many mock drafts. @DFOHockey
He may be a bottom-six option for the Kraken moving forward if he's able to develop a bit more. There is no risk with this pick, as he is young and very cheap. It is clear that the Kraken were not willing to take on any of the three big contracts of the Flyers. We will now see if Twarynski can develop into a full-time NHLer with the Kraken.
