St Louis Blues Vladimir Tarasenko Demands a Trade
The St Louis Blues have some work to do this summer as management is trying to get the team back to elite status. Turns out one of their long-time veteran forwards wants no part of it as Vladimir Tarasenko has now demanded a trade.
The demands are according to Blues writer Jeremy Rutherford who is as in tune with the team as anyone. The 29-year-old Russian forward has two seasons left on his contract, paying him $7.5 million per year. He's been banged up a lot lately, with multiple operations on his shoulder and last season only appeared in 24 games, recording 14 points.
While the production has been down lately, there's going to be a ton of interest considering he's a proven 40-goal sniper in the NHL and has won a Stanley Cup. In 78 career postseason games, Tarasenko has recorded 51 points.
The Blues forward holds no-trade protection as he can veto a deal to any team. It's expected he's interested in playing for the Washington Capitals, Florida Panthers or New York Rangers, but is open to listening to other offers. Gear up Blues fans, it's going to be a wild summer!
