Tampa Bay Lightning Sign Brayden Point To Massive Extension
The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed center Brayden Point to an eight-year extension. It will start during the 2022-23 season and will carry a $9.5 million cap hit per season.
The Lightning have locked up one of their most important players for the long-term. This is fantastic news for the organization, as Point has developed into a true first-line center over the last few years. He also seems to only get better.Signed on the dotted line. ✍️ pic.twitter.com/G9ITouYrIG

In 56 games this season, the 25-year-old scored 23 goals and recorded 48 points. He was an even bigger force in the postseason, as he scored 14 goals and registered 23 points in just as many games. This was a big reason for their second straight Stanley Cup win. He will continue to be the guy carrying the offense at center for the next nine seasons, too.
Overall, this is a great day for Lightning fans.
