The Boston Bruins Will Be Losing Young Defenseman To The Seattle Kraken
The Boston Bruins are expected to lose Jeremy Lauzon to the Seattle Kraken tonight at the Expansion Draft, according to Chris Johnston.
The Kraken's left side is continuing to get stronger, as it now has Lauzon, Vince Dunn, Jamie Oleksiak and Mark Giordano. That depth looks quite nice.
This is a solid pick for the Kraken, as Lauzon is a young defenseman who still has room for growth. This season was his first lengthy stay with the Boston Bruins, as he would suit up in 41 games and recorded eight total points. He also isn't afraid to engage in the physical side of the game, too. He also became a key defenseman on the Bruins' penalty kill as the season went on. He was arguably one of their most underrated players. The #SeaKraken are clearly prioritizing defencemen with these expansion selections. They have their sights set on Jeremy Lauzon in Boston.

At a minimum, Lauzon is a very serviceable bottom-pair defenseman. Yet, there is reason to believe that he could blossom into a top-four one as he continues to progress in the league. He has one year left on his current deal and it carries a $850,000 cap hit.
