The Carolina Hurricanes Have Their New Goalie
The Carolina Hurricanes questionably traded Alex Nedeljkovic to the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for the rights to Jonathan Bernier and a third-round pick. Yet, Bernier is heading to New Jersey. Now, the Hurricanes have signed Frederik Andersen. It is a two year contract that carries a $4.5 million cap hit.
What a strange saga it's been with the Hurricanes, but alas, Andersen is now their guy. He is coming off of a rough season with the Maple Leafs and even lost the starting job in the process. In 24 games, the 31-year-old goalie went 13-8-3 and had a very low .895 save percentage. However, he may be able to turn it around based on his previous seasons. The details of his contract have not yet been released. All signs point to Freddy Andersen signing with the Carolina Hurricanes when the market opens. @TSNHockey @TheAthletic

We will see if he is able to make the loss of Nedeljkovic less painful, but that is a hard task for any new goalie to take on.
