The Edmonton Oilers To Sign This Defenseman
The Edmonton Oilers are likely adding Cody Ceci to their defensive group, according to Chris Johnston. His contract is expected to be a four-year deal and have a cap hit of over $3 million per season.
Ceci had a very solid year with the Pittsburgh Penguins this season. In 53 games, the 27-year-old had four goals and 17 points. This came after a season where he struggled significantly with the Maple Leafs, as he was criticized for his defensive play and did not produce much offensively. There's a strong market for veteran 'D' in free agency: Word is that both Ian Cole and Cody Ceci will get north of $3M annually on their new contracts.

Ceci is leaning towards Edmonton, as @FriedgeHNIC and others have reported, on what's believed to be a four-year term.
If Ceci can continue to play the way he did with the Penguins, this should be a good signing. However, there is certainly some risk when looking at his previous struggles.
We will how this works out for Edmonton.
