The Los Angeles Kings Make A Big Signing

Like we previously predicted, the Los Angeles Kings have officially signed Phillip Danault. He has signed a six-year deal that carries a $5.5 million cap hit each season.

This is a very big contract for Danault, but he is an excellent two-way center. He was a huge reason why the Canadiens made it to the Stanley Cup Final, as he shutdown the toughest of opponents with relative ease. He will surely be a part of their top-six and penalty kill.

Yet, it is important to note that he is coming off of a down year offensively. In 53 regular season games, he scored five goals and recorded 24 total points. However, he also had 47 points the year before, so he is capable of producing offense. We will have to see which player he is as a member of the Kings, but regardless, this is a big signing.
