The Philadelphia Flyers Are Taking A Chance On This Goaltender

With Brian Elliott going to the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Philadelphia Flyers needed a new backup goalie. They have successfully added one, as Martin Jones has signed a one-year, $2 million contract.

This is a bit of a gamble by the Flyers, as Jones is coming off of three straight seasons with an .896 save percentage. Due to his struggles these last few seasons, the San Jose Sharks elected to buy him out. Now, he will be looking to redeem himself and find his old form as a member of the Flyers.

Philadelphia sure hopes this to be the case, as Carter Hart also had serious struggles this season. If Jones can be the goalie he once was, it would put less pressure on Hart. However, it is impossible to determine what will happen until next season starts.
