Toronto Maple Leafs Set NHL Record for Longest Stanley Cup Drought
The Toronto Maple Leafs have made NHL history for all the wrong reasons. The team has set the record for longest Stanley Cup drought by any franchise in league history with 19,787 days since their last victory.
53 seasons in total without hoisting the Stanley Cup, which their loyal fanbase is well aware of because every other fanbase reminds them of their losing ways on a regular basis.
Also, it’s been:

33 days since blowing a 3-1 series lead.
6,284 days since winning a Playoff series.
497 days since losing to an AHL Zamboni driver.#LeafsForever
Some wonder how this is new news, but it is. The Maple Leafs just passed the New York Rangers for the longest cup drought. The Rangers last won the cup in 1993-94, and hadn't won before that since the 1939-40 season. With the Rangers streak over and the Leafs streak still adding digits, the record is theirs.
Good news for Leafs Nation, only another 54 seasons to catch the Chicago Cubs for the worst drought of any team in major sports.
