Vancouver Canucks And Conor Garland Agree On Extension

The Vancouver Canucks have signed Conor Garland to a five-year extension, and it will carry a $4.95 million cap hit. The Canucks just acquired him from the Arizona Coyotes a few days ago.

This is a good move by the Canucks, as Garland was just one year away from becoming eligible for unrestricted free agency. Therefore, it was a real necessity to lock him up long-term.

In 49 games this season, the 25-year-old winger had 12 goals and 39 points. A late-bloomer, Garland just finished his third year in the league and has gotten better with each one. At this juncture, he is now a top-six forward and should work quite nicely in the Canucks' lineup.

Now with this task complete, the Canucks must focus their efforts on extending RFAs Elias Petersson and Quinn Hughes.
