Video: Jonathan Toews Provides Update on Health Scare
Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews missed the entire 2020-21 NHL season after what was called a mystery illness. Turns out Toews was able to find out some answers and get the treatment he needed and earlier this week released a video on his progress.
I just think there's a lot of things that just kind of piled up, where my body just fell apart. So what they're calling it was chronic immune response syndrome, where I just couldn't quite recover and my immune system was reacting to everything that I did.Toews has spent his entire career with the Blackhawks, after being drafted third overall in 2006. His resume is off the charts in Chicago as Toews has won three Stanley Cups, a Conn Smythe, and a Selke while registering 815 points in 943 games. The 33-year-old has two seasons remaining on his contract.
Here's the news we had all been waiting for:
I wasn’t too vocal about the things I went through this year. I appreciate the understanding and support and wanted to share this message on where I’m at. pic.twitter.com/3qgftKki10
