2 Possible Destinations For Trade Target Dylan Strome

Dylan Strome is a notable name in the rumor mill and could be dealt shortly. The Chicago Blackhawks are expected to get Jonathan Toews back this season and will likely want to give Kirby Dach play in the top-six. This would make Strome have to play on the wing, which does not suit his game well. The other option is to play him on the third-line, but that does not seem ideal for his style of play.

Strome is also coming off of a down season. In 40 games, he scored nine goals and only had 17 points. Keep in mind, it was just two seasons before that he had 51 points in 58 games. The talent is there, but perhaps a change of scenery is needed for him to bounce back. These two teams could be good fits for him.

Seattle Kraken: The Chicago Blackhawks could use another defenseman on their team and the Kraken happen to have an abundance of them. The Kraken also would certainly benefit from adding a center on their team, too. Strome would instantly be able to fit on their first or second-line because of this. The Kraken also may like the fact that he is still just 24 years old, so he should improve over these next few seasons. With Strome normally being a pass-first kind of player, he also could be an excellent linemate for winger Jordan Eberle.

Columbus Blue Jackets: Strome would also be given the chance to play top-six minutes on the Columbus Blue Jackets. With him still being quite young, he also fits into their current rebuilding stage. Furthermore, they also are reportedly shopping Max Domi, so they will need a replacement for him if a deal goes down. Going to a team like Columbus would also be not very stressful for Strome, as they are heading into next season with fairly low expectations after their many departures.
