2 Potential Landing Spots For Alex Chiasson
Alex Chiasson is another free agent forward who has yet to sign a new deal. He spent the last three seasons with the Edmonton Oilers. In his first one there, he scored an impressive 22 goals and had 38 total points. However, in the past two seasons, he failed to replicate that production. In 45 games this season, he scored nine goals and had 16 points. He could be a nice addition for a team's bottom-six, as he can provide decent depth scoring and plays with grit. These two teams could be good fits for the 30-year-old winger.
Nashville Predators: Chiasson could fit nicely in the bottom-six of the Nashville Predators. They would benefit from adding a bit of depth on the right wing, especially when looking at their projected lines on Daily Faceoff. It would not hurt them to add another forward to the group, especially if they hope to remain competitive next season. Although Chiasson is not a game-changing player, he could provide them with a more scoring help if he finds his previous form.
Detroit Red Wings: The Detroit Red Wings seem like a potential fit for Chiasson, too. He would have a shot of making their third or fourth-line because like the Predators, Detroit does not have the most depth at right wing. They also have almost $20 million of cap space, so they can afford to take a chance on him very easily. It is never a bad thing to add a veteran on a cheap deal to a rebuilding squad, as they can help mentor the younger players, too.
