2 Potential Landing Spots For Mark Jankowski
At this said time, center Mark Jankowski is still available as a free agent. The 2012 first-round pick just spent this past season with the Pittsburgh Penguins and played in their bottom-six. In 45 games with the team, the 26-year-old scored four goals and recorded 11 points. Although he did not dominate the scoresheet, he did have a 32-point campaign with the Calgary Flames back during the 2018-19 season. Perhaps that could be enough for a team to give him a chance. Here are two teams who could do just that.
Colorado Avalanche: The Colorado Avalanche could benefit from adding another potential fourth-line center. They have a small amount of cap space left and could sign Jankowski on a league-minimum deal. Although they signed veteran Darren Helm to a contract, he can play at left wing, too. With the Avalanche looking to win a Stanley Cup, it would not hurt having more forward depth.
Ottawa Senators: Ottawa could also take a chance on Jankowski. At this point of the off-season, they have a ton of cap space left and Jankowski could be able to cement himself a spot in their bottom-six. Although they need to re-sign Brady Tkachuk and Drake Batherson, they have over $28 million left to spend. Jankowski has showed in the past that he can provide decent depth scoring, so what's the harm in giving him a chance on a one-year deal?
Where do you think Jankowski will end up for this upcoming season?
