2 Potential Landing Spots For Riley Sheahan

Before getting started, forward Riley Sheahan has a new podcast called "Speak Your Mind with NHL's Riley Sheahan" that focuses on mental health. For those who are interested in checking it out, here is a link to it. It certainly is worth listening to.

At this said time, the 29-year-old center is still a free agent. With the regular season getting closer and teams looking to finalize their rosters, perhaps he could be a nice final addition. He works well on the bottom-six and is simply a good depth option to have. In 54 games this past season with the Buffalo Sabres, he scored four goals and had 13 points.

Here are two teams who could give him a shot.

Anaheim Ducks: The Anaheim Ducks are a young team that would benefit from adding a veteran like Sheahan. When looking at the way their roster is constructed, it would not hurt to add another bottom-six center to the mix. Even if he were to be the team's 13th forward, he still would be able to get into a fair share of games. Injuries are very common in this league. However, it would not be shocking to see him make the team's fourth-line if signed, too.

New York Rangers: The New York Rangers have some cash available and could use a little more forward depth on their roster. Sheahan would definitely help with that, as he is capable of producing decent scoring when he plays. Furthermore, like the Ducks, the Rangers have a lot of young forwards. With Sheahan's 566 games of NHL experience, he would be another excellent mentor for the kids. On a league minimum deal, there would be no harm giving him a chance.
