2 Potential Landing Spots For Ryan Donato

One intriguing free agent still available is forward Ryan Donato. The San Jose Sharks decided against sending him a qualifying offer, but he didn't necessarily have a bad season. In 50 games, he scored six goals and registered 20 points. In 2018-19 after being traded from the Boston Bruins to the Minnesota Wild, he also had 16 points in just 22 games. Thus, potential is there. On a cheap contract, he may be the type of player worth taking a chance on. He has the ability to provide decent offensive depth and can play both center and on the wing. Here are two teams who should consider adding him.

Anaheim Ducks: The Anaheim Ducks could be a team willing to take a chance on Donato. Although they are in the middle of a rebuild, Donato is still fairly young and they have money to work with. Like stated previously, he can play both center and left wing, so he would find no trouble making their top-nine. It also would not be a bad thing to add an offensively driven type of player to their group. The Ducks need more scoring on their roster, and when Donato is on his game, he can both score and set goals up. Lastly, they need to make one addition of some kind this summer, right?

Carolina Hurricanes: If utilized on the wing, Ryan Donato could be a nice addition for the Carolina Hurricanes. There is a bit of a hole at third-line left wing, as the team traded away Warren Foegele. Donato could be a solid player to put there, especially at a cheap cost. The Hurricanes do have to re-sign RFA Andrei Svechnikov before a potential Donato signing, but they should have the cap space to make it work fairly easily.
