2 Potential Landing Spots For Tyler Ennis

Veteran forward Tyler Ennis is still a free agent and looking for a new home. It is understandable that he is unsigned, as he is coming off of a rough season. In 30 games with the Edmonton Oilers, he scored three goals and had nine points. However, in the season before between the Ottawa Senators and Oilers, he scored 16 goals and recorded 37 points in 70 games. With that kind of solid depth production so recently, could a team be willing to sign him to a league-minimum deal? Here are two teams who may be willing to consider it.

Buffalo Sabres: It would be intriguing to see Ennis go back to where it all began and sign with the Buffalo Sabres. The team already brought back 2010 first-round pick Mark Pysyk, so maybe they would be open to a second reunion. Ennis would have a real chance of making their bottom-six as well. The Sabres of course are sporting a very weak roster and are expected to trade away Jack Eichel, too. In eight seasons with the Sabres, Ennis had 97 goals, 139 assists and 236 points in 419 games.

Ottawa Senators: Another reunion, yes, but Ennis could actually fit in Ottawa's lineup, too. At a minimum, he would be a worthy candidate for their 13th forward spot. He played 61 games with the team and played quite well. In them, he scored 14 goals and 33 points. Although expecting him to replicate those totals is a bit too much, he could be a valuable veteran for the young roster.
