3 Teams Battling to Trade for Vladimir Tarasenko
The St Louis Blues have heard from just about every team at this point as they try to find forward Vladimir Tarasenko a new home. The mutual breakup kind of came out of nowhere this summer, but regardless, the two have agreed to move on. With Tarasenko's trade protection it's made it a little more difficult, however rumor has three teams bidding for his services.
The likes of the New Jersey Devils, New York Islanders and New York Rangers continue to be the three teams to beat at the moment. The Rangers appear to be the head and shoulders favorite at this point, with the Islanders right behind. Some feel with the Islanders not announcing any new contracts for some of their current players and holding just verbal agreements, that it could be tied to the trade.
Meanwhile the Rangers continue to go big fish shopping this summer as they are talking to the Buffalo Sabres about Jack Eichel and to the Blues about Tarasenko. They won't be able to land both, so priority and reality need to set in pretty quick in the Big Apple.
