Anaheim Ducks Re-Sign Two Young Forwards

The Anaheim Ducks have re-signed forwards Sam Steel and Isac Lundestrom to identical deals. They each are one-year, two-way contracts that will pay $874,125 at the NHL level and $70,000 in the minors.

The Ducks drafted Steel in the first-round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft and he has played three NHL seasons thus far. In 42 games this past season, the 23-year-old scored six goals and recorded 12 points. During the 2018-19 season, he scored six goals and recorded 11 points in 22 games. Although that was a small sample size, the Ducks are hoping he can produce at a similar rate as then.

Lundestrom was selected by the Ducks in the first-round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. He suited up in 41 games this past season with the team. In them, he scored six goals and recorded nine points. This was the first time in his professional career that he had an extended look in the league. Over the previous two seasons, he played a total of 30 games with Anaheim and registered six assists.

The Ducks are hoping these two players can produce more offensively next season, as they do have the potential to.
