Arizona Coyotes: 2 Prospects Who Should Make The Team Next Season
Having a strong prospect pool is such an important thing, as it helps determine the future success of all NHL franchises. Although it is always nice to be competitive now, things changes rapidly and it truly is a young man's league. Therefore, it feels right to start a 32-team segment covering them. During it, we will be looking at two prospects from every NHL franchise who could become NHLers next season
The Arizona Coyotes will be the main focus of this piece. They have a lot of potential prospects who could make the team next season, as they are in the process of blowing up their entire roster. They already traded away Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Conor Garland and Darcy Kuemper. Phil Kessel and Christian Dvorak may be on the move next. Thus, there could be plenty of available spots for the kids.
One thing to note, this article will be skipping on 2018 first-round pick Barrett Haydon. He has a good chunk of NHL experience and will clearly be given the chance to play next season. These two other players are worth discussing, too, so let's give them a chance in the limelight.
Victor Söderström D: Victor Söderström left a good first impression with the Arizona Coyotes this past season. In four games, the 20-year-old defenseman had two assists. He also played in 32 games with the Tuscon Roadrunners and had two goals and 10 total points. The 2019 first-round pick should be an NHL regular this season when looking at the team's current roster. He has an immense amount of potential and could blossom into a top-pair defenseman as he matures.
Jan Jeník F: Jan Jeník could be given a real chance with the team next season. He is quite versatile, as he can play all three forward positions. When seeing as how the Coyotes are continuing to trade players, he will certainly be given the opportunity to compete for a spot. In two games with the NHL club this season, he scored two goals. He also had 14 points in 29 games with the Tuscon Roadrunners. He is another prospect from the Coyotes that should make fans be a bit more optimistic about the future.
