Arizona Coyotes: 3 Bold Predictions For The 2021-22 Season

The Arizona Coyotes have been busy trying to trade all their veterans away. The team is in quite the transition phase at the moment and more moves are on the way before puck drop opening night. Let's take a dive into the desert and make three bold predictions surrounding the Coyotes.

Coyotes Trade Phil Kessel to Carolina Hurricanes

The Hurricanes are trying to acquire a winger and the Coyotes are shopping one. While he may not be the perfect fit, Kessel does nothing but score goals and every team could use some more production. Kessel will not be playing in Arizona next season as a trade looms and if it's not the Hurricanes, expect the Florida Panthers or Nashville Predators to be involved.

Coyotes Finish the Season Worse Than the Seattle Kraken

The Kraken received a ton of criticism for some of their selections, as their forward group is going to need some serious help scoring goals. While the Kraken may be a disappointment, the Coyotes won't be winning many games next season either. There's a reason the team has eight picks in the first three rounds at the 2022 NHL Draft...they have no interest in winning anytime soon and are building for the future.

Andrew Ladd Finishes With More Goals Than Loui Eriksson

Both veterans are vastly overpaid and were weirdly acquired in the same offseason. We'll see if both even play a game in Arizona or if they get buried down on the books in the AHL or on LTIR. The Coyotes are building for the future and both were brought in because of the kickers received in the deals. Get ready for some tough times in the desert and these two could be smack dab in the middle of it. Ladd finishes with 12 goals, Eriksson with 10.
