Boston Bruins: 2 Players Who Could be Traded Next
The NHL offseason is underway and there's been a ton of movement so far this summer. Along with mega-contracts being handed out and an expansion draft in Seattle, there's been multiple trades that will have huge impacts on the 2021-22 NHL season. Trades will continue this summer so we shift our focus to the next deal for each franchise. Follow along as we highlight a couple of players from each team who are most likely to be traded during next season. Our last look was at the Carolina Hurricanes trade bait and now we shift to Bean Town and the Boston Bruins.
2 Bruins Most Likely to be Traded in 2021-22
Jake DeBrusk: This is a make or break season for DeBrusk in Boston, as trade rumors have been swirling for over a year now. It's obvious the player and the head coach don't get along, it's been admitted multiple times. DeBrusk is only 24 and will be a restricted free agent next summer. The team signed Nick Foligno and that feels like a security blanket should DeBrusk not be capable of playing in the top-six. A big year in Boston coming up for the former first-round pick after putting up only 14 points in 41 games last season.
Connor Clifton: The undersized defenseman has improved a bunch over the past couple of seasons, and the team is hoping he competes for a top-four spot at training camp. Last season Clifton recorded seven points in 41 games and didn't put up a point in 10 Stanley Cup Playoff games. With one season left on his contract at only $1 million, Clifton could easily become a throw in for any trade, including one for DeBrusk. Keep an eye on the Edmonton Oilers here as they have been circling the Bruins for awhile now.
