Boston Bruins: 2 Players Who Will Bounce Back Next Season

With the off-season starting to slow down a bit, we now have a better idea of every team's roster going into next season. Of course there will be other moves, but the craziness from the Expansion Draft and first day of free agency is officially done.

In this series, we will be taking a look at two players from each NHL team who are set to bounce back next season. Sometimes players will have down seasons, but end up completely turning it around in the following one. This will inevitably happen for this upcoming year, too. With this piece, we will be focusing on the Boston Bruins.

The Bruins had a good season overall, but depth scoring would lead to their demise. Two specific forwards produced far less than expected, so one has to expect they will turn it around next season. In fact, it is essential for the overall success of the Bruins.

Charlie Coyle C: With David Krejci heading back home to the Czech Republic, Charlie Coyle is their second-line center at this juncture. This may change by the end of the summer, but if not, he will need to find his previous form. In 51 games this past season, the 29-year-old scored only six goals and recorded 16 points. That was far worse than his previous season, as he had 37 points in 70 games, which was just over a point every two games. Perhaps Coyle can see his offense go back up playing with Taylor Hall and Craig Smith next season. If not, his contract will look even worse.

Jake DeBrusk LW: If the Bruins do not trade Jake DeBrusk, he will need to bounce back next season. The Bruins let Nick Ritchie go, so DeBrusk would likely be their third-line left winger yet again if he stays. In 41 games this season, he only scored five goals and had an underwhelming 14 points. Keep in mind, two years ago he scored 27 goals and produced 42 points in 68 games. He has shown that he can be a solid offensive player, so maybe he can find his game again. He's still only 24-years-old.
