Calgary Flames: 2 Players Most Likely Getting Traded Next
The NHL offseason is underway and there's been a ton of movement so far this summer. Along with mega-contracts being handed out and an expansion draft in Seattle, there's been multiple trades that will have huge impacts on the 2021-22 NHL season. Trades will continue this summer and of course into next season, so we shift our focus to the next deal for each franchise. Follow along as we highlight a couple of players from each team who are most likely to be traded next. Our last look was at the Boston Bruins and for today's piece we move to western Canada and zone in on the Calgary Flames.
2 Flames Most Likely to be Traded in 2021-22
Matthew Tkachuk: According to some of his peers, Tkachuk would prefer to play elsewhere long-term and will eventually be moved because of his interests. The St Louis Blues continue to be the focal point and while that destination makes a ton of sense given his family history, if Tkachuk goes to market, the bidding war will be insane. At this point it's 60/40 he gets dealt this season.
Johnny Gaudreau: It certainly feels like Johnny Hockey re-ups in Calgary but at this point it could be either Tkachuk or Gaudreau moved. There doesn't seem like enough money to go around or first line left-wing minutes for the both of them. It's been a career full of ups and downs with the Flames, and this season if things don't get off to a hot start in Calgary, expect some major changes.
