Canadiens GM Comments on Jonathan Drouin's Future in Montreal
Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin was open and honest when asked about forward Jonathan Drouin's future with the team and by all means signs are positive. It sounds like the expectation is for Drouin to be ready to go for training camp in September.
After appearing in 44 games last season and putting up 23 points, Drouin stepped away from the game to deal with some personal matters. While the details have remained few and far between, the biggest thing here is Drouin being open to getting back on the ice for the 2021-22 campaign.
The Canadiens of course went on to play in the Stanley Cup Final against the Tampa Bay Lightning and did so with Drouin in their lineup. He's a dynamic offensive threat and would give the Habs another weapon on their left side.
Montreal has added a number of players this summer and hope to run it back in the eastern conference next season. Having Drouin in their lineup opening night would be a great way to start the year.
