Carolina Hurricanes Sign Depth Forward

The Carolina Hurricanes have signed forward Stefan Noesen to a one-year, two-way contract. It will pay him $750,000 in the NHL and $250,000 at the AHL level.

This is nothing more than a depth signing for the Hurricanes, but that is not a bad thing at all. Noesen has proved over his career that he can fill in when injuries occur, so he should be able to play some games for Carolina next season. He also plays very physically, so that could be something that benefits the Hurricanes.

In six games this past season between the San Jose Sharks and Toronto Maple Leafs, the 28-year-old failed to record a point. However, he also did show some offensive ability during the 2017-18 season with the New Jersey Devils when he recorded 27 points in 72 games. Therefore, maybe he can back on track on a new team.

The former Ottawa Senators first-round pick has played in 205 career games thus far. In them, he had 31 goals and 54 total points.
