Chicago Blackhawks Sign Connor Murphy To Extension
The Chicago Blackhawks have signed Connor Murphy to a four-year extension. It will have an average annual value of $4.4 million. It will begin during the 2022-23 season.
Murphy has been a very important piece of the Blackhawks for four seasons now. In 50 games this past season, he scored three goals and recorded 15 points. Yet, it is crucial to note that he is a defensive defenseman who is more known for overall stability on the backend. He also has blossomed into a leader for the team, as he is one of their alternate captains.MORE‼️ MURPH‼️

Murphy will continue to be utilized on the penalty kill and expected to shut down the league's bests. One could argue that he is one of the more underrated players in the NHL, so this cap hit is certainly acceptable.
In 494 games between the Phoenix/Arizona Coyotes, Murphy has 28 goals, 82 assists and 110 points.
