Dallas Stars: 2 Prospects Who Should Make The Team Next Season

Having a strong prospect pool is such an important thing, as it helps determine the future success of all NHL franchises. Although it is always nice to be competitive now, things changes rapidly and it truly is a young man's league. Therefore, it feels right to start a 32-team segment covering them. During it, we will be looking at two prospects from every NHL franchise who could become NHLers next season.

In this article, we will be looking at the Dallas Stars. The Stars have some young players who should be able to take on bigger roles this upcoming season. There are two specific ones who seem to have the best chance of staying full-time NHLers moving forward. They also both are former first-round picks, so they surely will come with excitement, too.

Ty Dellandrea C: Ty Dellandrea got his first taste of the NHL this past season. In 26 games, he scored three goals and recorded five total points. He also racked up the penalty minutes, as he had a total of 23. He also played with the Texas Stars of the AHL and had six points in eight games. Although the 21-year-old did not light the world on fire in the NHL, he should be a part of their bottom-six next season. He plays with a strong degree of physicality and has the potential to become an offensive threat, too.

Thomas Harley D: Thomas Harley played in one postseason game for the Dallas Stars during their 2020 run. However, he did not play a single minute with the team this past season. Instead, he was working on his craft with Texas and he did quite well in the process. In 38 games, the 19-year-old scored eight goals and recorded 25 points. He is a potential candidate for their bottom-pair this upcoming season and could work well with the newly signed defensive defenseman, Jani Hakanpaa. His puck-moving ability should excite fans for years to come.
