Edmonton Oilers To Sign Darnell Nurse To Monstrous Extension
The Edmonton Oilers are expected to sign defenseman Darnell Nurse to an eight-year extension, according to Elliotte Friedman. It will have an average annual value of $9.25 million. The contract will begin during the 2022-23 season.
Nurse has become the top defenseman for the Oilers, so it makes sense that they wanted to lock him up for as long as possible. He is coming off the best season of his career, as he scored 16 goals and recorded 36 points in 56 games. In the process, he remained very dependable in his own zone, so he did not sacrifice defense for offense.Hearing also we are getting closer on the much-anticipated Darnell Nurse extension in EDM. This is huge news for the Oilers. Their best defenseman will now be on the team for many more years to come. Although the price is certainly high, keeping him around was immensely important for Edmonton.
