LA Kings: 2 Players Who Could be Traded Next Season

The NHL offseason is underway and there's been a ton of movement so far this summer. Along with mega-contracts being handed out and an expansion draft in Seattle, there's been multiple trades that will have huge impacts on the 2021-22 NHL season. Trades will continue this summer and of course into next season, so we shift our focus to the next deal for each franchise.

Follow along as we highlight a couple of players from each team who are most likely to be traded next. Our last article we looked at the Detroit Red Wings roster and for this piece we make our way to the beaches of California and the Los Angeles Kings.

2 Kings Most Likely Getting Traded Next Season:

Dustin Brown: The veteran forward and long-time LA King has been a staple for the franchise for over a decade. With his contract coming to an end after the season, if the Kings struggle to be in the playoff picture, Brown could be one of the biggest names on the rental market. At 36 he's not the player he once was, but he can play a role for a contending team. Brown loves to be physical and last season had a bounce-back year scoring 31 points in 49 games.

Andreas Athanasiou: The speedy winger received another contract from the Kings this summer and the short-term deal is a showcase deal that could turn into something long-term. If Athanasiou can improve on his 23 points in 47 games last season, the Kings would consider something long term that makes sense for both sides. If the production isn't there, expect a trade before the deadline.
