Los Angeles Kings: 2 Players Who Will Bounce Back Next Season
With the off-season starting to slow down a bit, we now have a better idea of every team's roster going into next season. Of course there will be other moves, but the craziness from the Expansion Draft and first day of free agency is officially done.
In this segment, we will be taking a look at two players from each NHL team who are set to bounce back next season. Sometimes players will have down seasons, but end up completely turning it around in the following one. This will inevitably happen for this upcoming year, too.
The Los Angeles Kings will be a fun team to watch next season. It is clear that they are pushing to move out of their rebuild, as they have made multiple noteworthy additions this off-season. They now have a nice mix of strong prospects and talented veterans, so perhaps this will be the year that they find themselves back into the postseason. These two new additions are worth keeping an eye on, as they have the ability to bounce back next season.
Viktor Arvidsson RW: The Los Angeles Kings acquired Viktor Arvidsson from the Nashville Predators at the beginning of the off-season. It was clear that he needed a change of scenery and he will be given a ton of chances to succeed in LA. He did not necessarily have a bad season, as he scored 10 goals and recorded 25 points in 50 games. However, he also has two 61-point campaigns under his belt and had 48 points in 58 games during the 2018-19 season. He is also only 28-years-old, so he has a real shot of getting his offense back up next season. In fact, one could argue that it seems more likely than not.
Alexander Edler D: It will be weird seeing Alexander Edler not playing for the Vancouver Canucks, but him leaving could be the best thing for him at this stage. In 52 games last season with them, he only had eight assists. It was a noticeably dramatic drop-off, as the season before, he scored five goals and recorded 33 points in just 59 games. It is very possible that he should be able to contribute much more next season with the Kings because of how recently his last strong year was. Even with him being 35-years-old, a bounce back of some kind should occur.
