Marc-Andre Fleury Clears the Air About Potential Retirement
Marc-Andre Fleury wanted to clear the air about his intentions on playing hockey this season after there was some speculation he was unhappy being traded to the Chicago Blackhawks and contemplated retirement.
Fleury met with the media earlier this week and had this to say about what went down:
I never had anything against Chicago, the organization. It was just me personally, what I wanted to do. I've talked to a bunch of guys, and I keep hearing so many great things about the team, how they treat players and families. I thought Stan (Bowman) did a great job to gain some players over the summer, trying to make this team competitive right away, and that's also very appealing. There's a lot that goes into it. I was very fortunate that Stan gave me some time to reflect on what I wanted to do, what was best for me and my family.
The Blackhawks are going to be a force in the western conference next season with the additions of Fleury, Tyler Johnson, Jake McCabe, Seth Jones and the return of Jonathan Toews to their lineup. If you're thinking about some futures bets, may want to sprinkle on the Blackhawks winning it all. The NHL is a better place with the Flower, can't wait to see his setup red pads!
