Nashville Predators: 2 Prospects Who Could Make The Team Next Season

Having a strong prospect pool is such an important thing, as it helps determine the future success of all NHL franchises. Although it is always nice to be competitive now, things changes rapidly and it truly is a young man's league. Therefore, it feels right to start a 32-team segment covering them. During it, we will be looking at two prospects from every NHL franchise who could become NHLers next season.

With this specific piece, we will be observing the Nashville Predators. The Predators are in a retooling period at this stage, as they have traded both Ryan Ellis and Viktor Arvidsson this off-season. They also lost Calle Jarnkrok to the Seattle Kraken. With this, they did not make any big splashes during free agency, so there are spots for prospects to take next season. These two specific ones have a real shot of being in their opening night lineup because of it.

Philip Tomasino F: The Predators could use a spark on offense and Philip Tomasino seems like a strong candidate. The 2019 first-round pick had a very strong first season with the AHL's Chicago Wolves. In 29 games, he scored 13 goals and recorded 32 points. The year before in the OHL, he put up a 100-point campaign in 66 games with the Niagara IceDogs and Oshawa Generals. Tomasino has a chance of playing either center or wing for them next season. With a strong camp, perhaps he could even be in their top-six.

David Farrance D: Defenseman David Farrance finished his collegiate career with Boston University this past season. In 11 games there, he scored five goals and had 16 points. During the season before, he already showed signs of strong offensive capabilities, as evidenced by his 14 goals and 43 points in 34 games. After signing a contract with the Predators before the end of this year, he suited up in two games. He should be able to fight for a spot on their bottom-pair for next season because of all of this.
