New York Rangers: 2 Players Who Will Bounce Back Next Season

With the off-season starting to slow down a bit, we now have a better idea of every team's roster going into next season. Of course there will be other moves, but the craziness from the Expansion Draft and first day of free agency is officially done.

In this segment, we will be taking a look at two players from each NHL team who are set to bounce back next season. Sometimes players will have down seasons, but end up completely turning it around in the following one. This will inevitably happen for this upcoming year, too.

This article will go over the New York Rangers. They will be a fun team to watch next season, as they brought in a whole bunch of grit and toughness to their roster. Keep an eye on these two players next season, though.

Alexandar Georgiev G: Alexander Georgiev had his struggles this season with the Rangers. In 19 games, he had an 8-7-2 record to go along with a .905 SV%. It was lower than his three previous seasons in the league, but there is reason to believe he can turn it back around next season. He's still just 25-years-old and some young goaltenders will go through patches of inconsistency. He has been the subject of trade rumors, but when looking at the Rangers' roster, it may be best to give him another shot next season.

Jacob Trouba D: Jacob Trouba was very good defensively this season and performed better than his first year with the Rangers. However, the one ongoing issue with him is that his offense has yet to jump back up. During the 2018-19 season with the Winnipeg Jets, Trouba had 50 points in 82 games. That kind of production was a huge reason why the Rangers signed him to his seven-year, $56 million contract that summer. In 38 games this season, he had two goals and 12 points. Although he did not have a bad season by any means, one has to expect that he will find the scoresheet more often moving forward.
