NHL Rejects Philipp Grubauer's Contract With Seattle Kraken
The Seattle Kraken now have to restructure goaltender Philipp Grubauer's contract. The NHL has rejected his recently signed six-year, $35.4 million deal, as it violated the league's requirements for front-loaded contracts. He will be joining Seattle still, but a new contract must be finalized. He likely will make the same amount, but it will be paid out differently than before.
Thankfully, this is just a minor error by the Kraken and it is easily salvageable. By the start of this upcoming season, Grubauer will be their number one goalie. They also will have Chris Driedger making up the other half of their tandem, so they certainly are in good shape in that regard.Grubauer's contract w/ the #SeaKraken was rejected by the NHL central registry for violating the front-loaded contract requirements:

Grubauer was absolutely phenomenal this past season with the Avalanche. In 40 games played, he had a 30-9-1 record to go along with a 1.95 GAA and .922 save percentage. If he can carry this much success over to Seattle, they will be in excellent hands. They just need to fix their little mistake first.
