Philadelphia Flyers: 2 Breakout Candidates For Next Season

With each season that passes, it seems as though every team has players who improve significantly. They often turn out to be prospects naturally, but players who have some experience in the league also can. In this segment, we will be looking at two potential breakout candidates from each team. We will also be setting a max age limit of 26 years old, so older players are not eligible for discussion.

The Philadelphia Flyers will be the topic of discussion in this one. They have made a lot of changes to their roster and are hoping to regroup after a tough year. These two young forwards stand out as candidates to improve this upcoming season. One is a player who has established himself as a top-six forward, while the other is a center who is trying to crack the NHL roster permanently.

Joel Farabee LW: After a 21-point campaign in 52 games this rookie season, Joel Farabee took his game to the next level this go-around. In 55 games, he scored 20 goals and had 38 points. He is still just 21-years-old and has the potential to become a fantastic player in this league. Next season we should see him become an even greater threat offensively. He stands a real shot of becoming a true first-line winger moving forward and perhaps even the team's best goal-scoring forward.

Morgan Frost C: Morgan Frost should stay with the team this season. The 27th overall pick of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft only played two games this past season and was held without a point. However, in 20 games the season before with Philadelphia, he had two goals and seven points. If he can translate his strong playmaking ability to the NHL, he should be able to truly cement himself as a top-six center later down the road. This season should be a notable one for the 22-year-old forward.
