Philadelphia Flyers: 2 Players Who Will Bounce Back Next Season
With the off-season starting to slow down a bit, we now have a better idea of every team's roster going into next season. Of course there will be other moves, but the craziness from the Expansion Draft and first day of free agency is officially done.
In this segment, we will be taking a look at two players from each NHL team who are set to bounce back next season. Sometimes players will have down seasons, but end up completely turning it around in the following one. This will inevitably happen for this upcoming year, too.
With this article, we will be looking at the Philadelphia Flyers. It is apparent that the Flyers will be looking to rebound as a whole team, as last season was significantly underwhelming. However, after some big moves this off-season, they do stand a real shot of making it back into the postseason yet again. These two specific players are prime candidates to bounce back this upcoming season. One of them is also a new guy.
Carter Hart G: Carter Hart will surely bounce back this upcoming season. In 27 games this season, the 23-year-old had a 9-11-5 record to go along with an .877 SV%. That is just far too low for a player of his ability. Given the fact that he was dominant during his first two seasons in the league, it is easy to assume that he will perform better this go-around. He also have more help from the additions of Ryan Ellis and Rasmus Ristolainen on the backend.
Keith Yandle D: Keith Yandle will benefit from his change of scenery. His time with the Florida Panthers ended in a rough manner, as he was healthy scratched during their postseason run. He also was utilized less often with Florida during the regular season and his stats were a bit lower than usual because of it. In 56 games, he scored three goals and had 27 points. Given the fact that he has far less pressure with his cheap contract to produce in Philly, it would not be surprising to see his points shoot back up.
