Pittsburgh Penguins Re-Sign Zach Aston-Reese
The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed forward Zach Aston-Reese to a one-year, $1.725 million contract. They will now avoid going to arbitration because of this.
Aston-Reese has developed into a very effective bottom-six forward for the Penguins. He solid defensive play makes him an important part of their penalty kill, so it is nice that he will be returning next season. In 45 games this past season, the 26-year-old scored nine goals and recorded 15 points. That is pretty effective depth scoring, especially in the role he plays. The Penguins have re-signed forward Zach Aston-Reese to a one-year contract.

In 161 career regular season games with the Penguins, Aston-Reese has 27 goals and 51 points.
We noted this as a very important move for the Penguins to make this off-season, so it is great to see it come into fruition. The contract is not too expensive and ultimately, Aston-Reese truly deserves it. His hard work ethic is something that will continue to benefit the team next season.
