Retired Goaltender Cam Ward Spotted At Carolina Hurricanes Practice Rink

Former NHL goaltender Cam Ward was back at the Carolina Hurricanes practice rink earlier today. The 37-year-old last played in the NHL with the Chicago Blackhawks during the 2018-19 season. Therefore, it's just nice seeing the retired goalie back on the ice with the team he was most famous playing for.

However, the Hurricanes official Twitter account also called it "a big one-day, practice rink comeback" so this is not Ward trying to return to the league on a permanent basis.

Ward is one of the biggest names in the history of the Hurricanes. In his rookie season with the team in 2005-06, he led them to their first ever Stanley Cup. His strong play also was enough for him to win the Conn Smythe Trophy as the MVP of the postseason, too. That was not a bad way for him to start his career at all.

He would go on to play 668 games with the team over 13 total seasons. In them, he had a 318-244-84 record to go along with a .909 SV% and 2.70 GAA.

Nonetheless, it was cool to see Ward once again rocking a Hurricanes jersey. It is how NHL fans will always remember him.
