San Jose Sharks: 2 Players Who Will Bounce Back Next Season

With the off-season starting to slow down a bit, we now have a better idea of every team's roster going into next season. Of course there will be other moves, but the craziness from the Expansion Draft and first day of free agency is officially done.

In this segment, we will be taking a look at two players from each NHL team who are set to bounce back next season. Sometimes players will have down seasons, but end up completely turning it around in the following one. This will inevitably happen for this upcoming year, too.

In this episode, let's discuss the San Jose Sharks. This is a team who is hoping to be competitive again, but they have a lot of working against them. Last season was particularly disappointing, as they sported a 21-28-7 record. Regardless, these two players need to rebound this upcoming season. It certainly is possible.

Erik Karlsson D: This past season was a significantly rough one for Erik Karlsson. In 52 games, he scored eight goals and only had 22 points. However, the season before, he had 40 points in 56 games. Although he may never be the 70-to-80 point defenseman he once was, it is easy to assume he can get his numbers back up noticeably. There is no denying that his contract is horrendous, but seeing him be a bit better offensively next year does not seem out of the question.

Kevin Labanc RW: Ever since his 56-point campaign in 2018-19, Kevin Labanc has had a hard time replicating it. He did show signs of improvement this season compared to the previous one, though, as he had 12 goals and recorded 28 points in 55 games. However, over the course of an 82-game schedule, he would have been on pace for just 42 points. This year could very well be the year that Lebanc gets back to the 50-point plateau again. At just 25-years-old, the possibility of bounce back season seems especially high. Overall, this season wasn't a bad one for him, but still not as strong as two years ago.
