San Jose Sharks To Buyout Young Forward
The San Jose Sharks have placed forward Ivan Chekhovich on waivers and will buyout his contract.

The Sharks drafted Chekhovich with the 212nd overall pick of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. The 22-year-old forward played in four games with the Sharks this season and had an assist. In 17 games with the San Jose Barracuda, he scored two goals and recorded seven points.Sounds like KHL deal in his future

Yet, Chekhovich played quite well in the KHL this past season with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod. In 43 games, he scored 17 goals and had 34 points. Therefore, he should continue to be a solid producer in the league this upcoming season.
Nonetheless, this is a minor move, but it will be interesting to see how much he improves back in Russia.
